Gmail file attachments
Hi, apologies I'm not very computer-literate, but my gmail has stopped allowing attachments such as images or files (just keeps saying attachments failed). I cleared a lot of old (large) emails from my email account and freed up a lot of space - but I still can't add attachments. I've checked Firefox and it's up to date - as are my ad blockers. Is there something else I can do like deleting Firefox and then reinstalling it to see if this helps - the problem is definitely when using Firefox (and not Chrome) as my browser.

Hi Guys, it was AdBlocker for Gmail that was doing it - I went to the reviews and someone else was experiencing the same problem - I've disabled it now but it's been good for years - I hope they debug it soon. Thanks for everyone's help - goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks ! Brian.

I see attachments. see screenshot Did you try Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? What version of Firefox? What OS?
Hi Jonzn4SUSE, I'm using MS Windows W10 Pro Vs 22H2. I tried the trouble-shooting mode and it worked, I could upload attachments - but then all my Ad Blockers were turned off. I checked to see if they needed updating but they all seem to be up to date. So the problem is likely to be one of them, they look okay from a glance - should I de-install and re-install them one by one to see which one is the problematic one? Thanks Brian
Gmail file attachments in Firefox only works in "Troubleshoot Mode". This problem started, I think, after I did the latest Firefox update. I did a "refresh" which did not help, have not tried to re-install yet.
Everything work fine in Microsoft Edge.
If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin), always make sure such extensions do not block content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems
You can check for issues with Enhanced Tracking Protection and Total Cookie Protection. Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages like about blocked content.
Like cor said, you're going to have play detective and disable one by one to see which one is causing the issue. May the Schwartz be with you. We'll leave the light on for ya. ;-))
