Where do I answer the verification code? I see that others have the same problem, but no replies. it is greatly appreciated that volunteers sacrifice their time to design Thunderbird, and they are really sophisticated and intelligent people, but can it be dumbed down and be more intuitive to us un-washed masses? Check Juno.com for an intuitive format; they have a free subscription. The "Email me when someone answers the thread" check box below, doesn't check; kindly Email me if someone has a simple answer. Much thanks to all the volunteers.

re :can it be dumbed down and be more intuitive This does not explain the problem. There are loads of Articles that have been written on a variety of topics to help people - although some are not fully up to date. But you need to be clear about the specific issue you are having with 'Thunderbird'. In this forum each question is for a specific topic, so you may need to ask more than one question, but 'Totally Confused' is not a question - it explains how you feel.

Please offer information because no one knows what you are using or what you are seeing or what you are attempting to do. What Operating System are you using? Have you downloaded and installed Thunderbird for the first time or have been using it for a while? Are you using the most recent release which is 91.4.1 at date of this post?

Please explain what you are doing or attempting to do. I may be able to offer help.

re :Where do I answer the verification code?

Verification of what ?

You say "I see that others have the same problem," but did not post any links to those other questions - so we can try to work out what problem you are talking about.

Are you creating a new mail account for an existing email address and using Authentication Method: Oauth2 ?

Did you forget your password, so tried to logon to webmail account and use the 'Forgotten Password' link and were told you would get an email with a verification code which you would need to use to be able to reset a password ?

Does the server require you to set up 2 step authentication and create an app generated password ? Are you wondersing where you put that 'app generated passcode' ?

What server are you using? eg: BT, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Comcast etc

Maybe the verification is for signing in to Mozilla help, rather than anything Thunderbird specific?? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/im-having-problems-confirming-my-firefox-account Still, we could guess all day unsuccessfully, without clearer info or a screen shot of the problem you are facing.
