Trash creating new nstmp folders

when deleting an email it does not go to the trash it creates a new fold in the trash nstmp, nstmp-1, nstmp-2, etc

This is normally the result of a failed compression. I suggest reviewing sizes of your message folders. In the years I've been on this forum, this is first I've seen this, so my first opinion is that the issue is local to your PC.
