I run aPC with Win 7 (64 bit) and use TB 115.18.0 (64 bit) Supernova (esr) I have all my contacts in a folder on the HDD (data drive). However, I cannot find where TB stores its "contacts" folder. Nor how to import my contacts from the windows folder. I have tried to download a "contacts sidebar" from TB, but my ver. of TB is "not suitable" " " " " create a "contacts" folder to replace the "Starred" folder etc. (failed) and even created a "contacts" folder in the "Local Folders"(succeeded). However when I tried to drag and drop the files from windows toTB, it failed.

There must be a simple way to to import contacts.

Can somebody help please.

John

In the Thunderbird main window open the Address Book tab. In the AB sidebar panel scroll to the bottom where you see an "Import" button. Clicking this button will open the Address Book Import wizard which can import all sorts of address book formats (see images)

Hi,

Many thanks for taking the time to help me, but reading your instructions and observing your images, it seems that you are using a different version of TB to me. I'm using the (esr) version and don't use POP 3.

However you reply helped me to explore TB and to solve my problem, thank you. (I'm new to TB, so this exploration really helped me in quite a few ways.)

In the future, if you use support.mozilla.org, put in a search string for what you need, then pick "Help articles only" you will find useful articles. For example https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-import
