How do I restore the lay-out of the email program so I can have horizontal lay-out and see the content of the messages below the email? Now, in order to see the content of the email - Thunderbird opens a new tab.

I'm not a big fan of all the vertical options that are available.

click view>layout>classic and click F8 to open the message view pane below.
