Why can't I attach my public key in Thunderbird?

I’m new to Thunderbird and my OS is Tails 3.3. I have set up an Enigmail key and under Open PGP Security I have selected “Open specific Open PGP Key ID”. After I compose my unencrypted message and it’s time to send my recipient my public key, I click on the tab ‘Attach my public key’. The tab DOES change to yellow, but the public key will not attach to the email no matter how many times I try. Any suggestions?

I suggest you ask the add-on authors over at enigmail.
