Hi, just bought a new laptop which is loaded with windows 11, and I cannot download Surfshark vpn, I go to google and it will not even open any surfshark page, I assumed it must be something to do with safesearch, so I clicked on the safesearch button but it does not give me the option to turn it off it just states 'You don't have permission to change your SafeSearch setting. It's locked by the device or network that you are browsing on' !! how do I get over this? any help appreciated,

I'm not exactly sure what this is called. Maybe it's in the cache, but I don't know. One of the fastest timesavers I have is that I use the Firefox url feature that makes suggestions as soon as I start typing a url. I pull up dozens, possibly hundreds of articles that I refer to frequently this way, so that I don't have to bother bookmarking them. I don't clear the cache, to keep these references from disappearing. I have to move computers now. My longtime mac is not working well anymore. Is there any way to bring these url suggestions with me when I migrate? Thank you.

I would like to save my Firefox profile data into my computer as I would like to transfer the data to a different computer. Is there any solution to how to save it down?

Hi, I have some issue on the new updates on Version 101.0.1 (64 bit) Firefox auto-download all my files even when I am in view mode. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Patch 1 and 2. 91 Branch: Patch 1 and 2 (Despite saying Parts 2 and 3, there is no Part 1). To clarify, so the current 102 release of FF does not 'contain any patch for that bug 1771084, and it's recommended manually to install these patches? Or they are already incorporated in the release?

Starting today, I went to download a .pdf file to open automatically with Adobe Acrobat as I usually do. However, this time I got a pop-up from Microsoft Word stating, "Word will now convert your PDF to an editable Word document. This may take a while. The resulting Word document will be optimized to allow you to edit the text, so it might not look exactly like the original PDF, especially if the original file contained lots of graphics."

I went to Settings - General - Applications, went down Contents list to Portable Document Format (PDF), and tried the various settings under the Action column, to include "Save File," "Always Ask," "Use Acrobat Adobe 2020." None of these worked or made any difference. I open numerous .pdf files every day and I need to be able to just click on them in the website and have them open in my Adobe Acrobat program - as they have up until today. What do I have to do to fix this? I am using Version 102.0.1 (64-bit).

I am using Pop OS, which is based off of Ubuntu.

Somehow I did something, and it made the icon disappear for Firefox. I figured I could easily search the internet and find a simple solution.

I temporarily fixed it last night, but here it is missing again.

I could upload a picture, but I don't see what difference that would make. The dock at the bottom has a spot for firefox, but no icon, literally an empty spot, In the application menu it is a blank spot with Firefox worded underneath.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, purged, deleted the application data in my user folder..

Just annoying. not a huge problem.

I have a problem with opening files: Mozilla keeps saving them and ignores temp folder. I tried to modify browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel in about:config, but nothing happened. Can anybody help me?

i'd like to copy my Firefox profile from PC1 to a new PC2;

Last time i tried this, i ended up with PC2 having the same "name" as PC1 in "Sync". This caused weird sync issues, as the system thought my PC2 was PC1 as vice versa.

So, is it possible to copy my entire profile with all addons/settings, BUT, make "Sync" recognize it as a NEW pc ?

My HP Omen has 2 hard drives. Originally, Firefox was installed on the C: drive and working perfectly. In order to clear up space, I tried to use the Windows Move feature to move the program from the C: drive to the secondary (and larger) E: drive. Since then, Firefox won't work aside from opening a Firefox window. It will load no pages, settings, etc.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox from both the C: and E: drives. Searched for any remaining files and deleted them. Deleted Old Firefox Data folders. I've reinstalled Firefox, without the option of where to install it, but it still fails to work at all. I get an error message regarding a missing file, VCRUNTIME140_1.dll. I've searched for the file and it's NOT missing. It is in both the Firefox folder and the Windows/Systems32 folder.

I've searched for data in the Users folders that might relate to Firefox but NOTHING seems to work that will allow Firefox to work again. I've tried putting Firefox in Troubleshooting Mode but it won't restart as it says it needs to. It just won't work!

If anyone can just tell me how to COMPLETELY remove Firefox from both hard drives so that I can just do a clean, new Firefox install, that would be preferable. I know how to import bookmarks from Chrome.

If anyone can offer some help for someone who isn't great with computers, I would greatly appreciate it. If you need any other information, please don't hesitate to ask.

I am following all the instructions. It has continued to fail for the past year. I've uninstalled ff and reinstalled ff. I've tried creating new profiles. I can import everything into Chrome or from Chrome to MSE, but NOTHING will import into ff from any other browser.

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. I'm currently using a Windows 10 desktop computer most of the time, but will need to use a Windows 11 laptop for research travel several times over the next several months.

Will it be possible to copy my profile from Win 10 to the Win 11 computer, use the Win 11 computer for a few weeks, and then copy the profile back to the Win 10 computer?

Or is there something different about Firefox working with Win 10 or Win 11 that would keep this from working for me?

(BTW: Using Sync would probably not be feasible.)

I have my saved login and password details from another browser in a CSV and would like to import them to Firefox. I initially did not have the 'Import from a File' option in the drop down menu of the Logins and Passwords tab. After following a guide that instructed to set signon.management.page.fileImport.enabled to true in the about:config page, the option appeared. However, the said option is unresponsive to any clicks. The drop down menu simply closes once the option is selected, without any other reaction.

I'm not sure if this is a related problem but I am also unable to use the Import Wizard that appears on performing Alt+F and choosing 'Import From Another Browser...' The Import Wizard window only appears with a message that says "No programs that contain bookmarks, history or password data could be found."

Funnily enough, the 'Browse..' button for adding images under this support question doesn't work either.
