Issue description: Similar as https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1294366 But I'm not using USB wireless receiver, I'm using wired network adapter for connection

I've been using the Firefox browser, and recently when downloading files with Firefox, sometimes it prompts: .part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. # see image #1 I'm trying to download file to disk D. But the fail tips is download .part file to disk C. Maybe firefox is using some file cache policy which I don't know. I also checked both two location, my account have read/write access.

I can try to resume the download, and the download progress will increase, but about half a second later it will fail again. If the file is small and my internet speed is fast enough, after several attempts the file will eventually download successfully. # see image #2 I have tried using "private window" or enter "about:profiles" to create/use a new and clean profile, but the issue still persists. # see image #3 I tried using other download tools like "Internet Download Manager", and the download was successful. It's ok for use chrome to download the same file to same disk location. The problem recently emerged, it didn't exist before. At least a month ago, the same computer didn't have this issue. I'm not using parental controls.

Enivronment: OS: Windows 10 professional 22H2 Firefox version: "124.0.2 (64 位)", auto update is enabled, it should be the newest version. security software: windows defender

Sometimes all add-ons / extensions break randomly and are disabled (the icon of the extensions is also broken under "Manage Your Extensions").

The extensions are visible under "about:addons", but the slider is turned off and the icon in front of each extension is broken / empty.

It seems that deleting these 2 files- compatibility.ini and extensions.json inside the firefox profile folder, usually fixes the issue. Only these 2 files though, don't delete anything else.

No need to mess around with the ff profiles or anything else, just deleting those 2 files and restarting the firefox usually fixes the issue with the "unregistered" addons.

This thread is for the search function, as I found some VERY old and outdated suggestions for the aforementioned issue using the search function.

I wonder what causes the extensions to "unregister" randomly.

I have 3 laptops all running windows 10 or 11. These all share a docking station giving access to an extended display, keyboard etc. All laptops run fine with the docking station except for one issue with the newest laptop... The screen resolution, only on firefox on the one laptop, (everything else is fine) is completly out of whack. I have tried the zoom function but no luck. I have trawled the internet but all the solutions are from 10+ years ago and refer to different versions of firefox and windows. I am not a computer geek so please dumb down any advice.

Once updated Firefox all old tabs didn't open ( and it was not possible to restore them anymore). So I'd like to restore all old tabs of yesterday session. Really important for my work. Looking forward to hearing from you asap. Regards, Orlando.

I realized since I upgraded my MacMini to 14.4.1 I can no longer 'post' into any of the yard sale/garage sale sites I am on, not even MarketPlace. All I get after a long wait is a 'technical problem' notice. Am I doing something wrong?

latest 124.0.2 causing severe problems, it will near instantly bloat to fill all RAM and SWAP even in safe mode causes system load over 24! only solution is to reboot very problematic on for ex: https://epg.pw/xmltv/epg_CA.xml hard to get a screencap since system is nearly totally unresponsive. Since the 2 APR 2024 FF update, Washington Post articles are not displaying fully. When opened, the article flashes the full version, then only displays the top photo and the first two paragraphs. When opened in EDGE, all articles open fully as expected. This issue is only occurring in FF.

Actions taken: Cleared cache, same result.

Please advise.

When I pause a video (any site) and go to another tab / stay on the site, after a seemingly random amount of time the video starts playing again.

I'm using latest Firefox on Ubuntu 22.04 (snap).

I've tried (didn't work):

• Disabling media hardware controls through about:config
• Disabling autoplay through about:config

it keeps popping this message up "firefox is installing components needed to play audio or video on this page, please try again later" its been saying this since the new update and keeps telling me failed to check for update.

When using picture in picture on Prime Video, my subtitles aren't showing up in the window, but instead on the original page, despite prime video being one of the original supported websites. Any ideas on how to fix?

For one site I go to there is an internal menu where I should be able to scroll down. In Firefox, there is no option on the right side for me to scroll down...but in Chrome I have no problem. The owner of the website said it should work in Firefox but it's not. I have attached images from the 2 browsers. I have attached 2 screenshots. For Chrome you can see to the right of the numbers under the Acct # column that I can scroll down. But in Firefox I don't have that option to scroll down to see entries at the bottom of the list.

Help! How can I fix this so I can scroll down in Firefox for this sub-menu item?

Firefox Version: 124.0.2 (64 bit) Windows Version: Windows 10 LTSC 2019 (Version 1809)

When I right click the taskbar and press close Firefox, here comes the interface just as the screenshot uploaded. The blue close button doesn't response no matter how I click it and the Firefox's taskbar is flashing yellow. This bug only occurs on the first window of Firefox and only when user right click the taskbar.

It has been a long time for me wishing that some updates would be released soon to fix this issue, while noting happens. Or this bug is only for me?

Hello! I synced my browsing data yesterday by signing in to firefox account and reset my OS(window 10) to improve my laptop's speed. When I am trying to get back my browsing data back after resetting and installing firefox by signing in to my firefox account and pressing the Sync Now button then its not giving me my browsing data back. Why is it so? Need Help. Thank You!!

remove ad blockers even though I already have removed them.

Some websites still managed to smuggle in popups despite all the blockings. I use as add-ons: privacy badger, no-script, ublock origin and recently tried popup blocker (strict) and even have the 'block pop-up windows' enabled. I also tried to fiddle around in ´about:config´ but nothing helps. I think it's a recent occurrence as I don't remember having this problem, let's say, a couple of months ago.

The funny thing is that this problem doesn't occur in opera-browser (in which I hardly use extensions).

The websites that this occurs are: arabicpost.net (a pop-up will occur about 10 sec after right-clicking a new tab). focus.de (a video pop-up will occur if there's a video in it). Again opera-browser blocks all of this. I expect there will be other websites to add in the future.

Firefox works great on every other video site. But Youtube will not show or play video. I have refreshed Firefox, disabled add on. Restarted my computer, tested all hardware. No Bueno...

I already found many users asking the same, but they didn't get a reply.... at least I didn't see any.

I want to protect my password memory with a master password - fine. But in 99% of my time, I don't need to enter login data. Even worse, if FF starts on an "invisible" monitor, I cannot move the window.

Is there a way to have FF prompt only for the password if I attempt to log into a site ? ... it already does that when I cancel the start-up prompt.... so is there an "auto cancel at startup ?"
