Many of my saved messages are now blank or have encoding with no normal text message in them. I had not changed any setting, so I don't know how to make content
Message which had previously been open and had text in them no longer have text. Just a blank screen. Some others just have code and no original text. How can I restore these to be able to read the message again?

To try an fix the corruption, right click the problem folder, select Properties and then Repair Folder. Depending on how bad the corruption is be prepared to lose some or all of the problem messages.
For the future do better folder maintenance to prevent the problem. This article tells you how.
