How do transfer emails from Thunderbird into Gmail?
I would like to know the procedure (step by step) to transfer all my emails from Thunderbird app into an existing Gmail.
Please let me know what I need to set up in my Gmail or Thunderbird (not sure if I need to configure the account setting for both Gmail and Thunderbird) settings in order for the emails to be transferred chronologically into the respective folders into my Gmail.
Kindly explain. Thank you

The person asked for "step by step" instructions. You started out with the mystifying "create an gmail imap account," which is something that requires instrucdtions in itself.
I am sorry KinVA, go right ahead and do just that as you appear to know what they want. Personally I consider the question answered. Step by step instructions as you obviously see them are not something I feel capable of giving.
Here is my clue. If you need instructions of creating an account read the flaming manual, or one of the Thousands of tutorials on the web on the same topic.
