I installed PowerPoint 2012 a few weeks ago, and now Firefox regularly slows to a crawl and/or stalls when PowerPoint is active. A window also opens sometimes to tell tell me a script is running in the background. Since PowerPoint 2012 works with Msoft's cloud access (SkyDrive) I'm wondering if SkyDrive is running scripts which interfere with the Firefox operation, or if there may be network contention problems. I'm running Windows 7 (64-bit) on a Compaq Presario CQ62. Thanks for the help and advice.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
