When installing Firefox on a machine with IE8, will Firefox automatically migrate IE 8 "Favorites" and "cookies" or will I have to manually export and import? During installation will Firefox give me a choice to make Firefox my (primary) browser or will I have to manually change Windows settings? Thanks to any and all that reply....I haven't figured how to say thanks after I get a reply.

Favourites - yes - Firefox calls them bookmarks.

Cookies - no. You can't, AFAIK, migrate cookies to Firefox. It's not usually a problem - sites will set them up again. It'll just mean you have to sign in a few places.

Edit: I think Fx asks if you want it to be your default browser. If not there's an option in Firefox to set it so.
