Have you purged Windows via a [Restart]?
What is your anti-virus software?
Go to Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Folder > Open Folder..., then exit Thunderbird. The Thunderbird profile folder is now opened in the file explorer: search for the file session.json and rename it in session-old.json Restart Thunderbird and report result.
