When you delete a profile in Firefox, it gives you two options: "Don't Delete Files" and "Delete Files." Most people panic-click "Don't Delete Files" or just close the window. If you did pressed "Don't Delete Files", the data is still sitting on their drive, completely safe—Firefox just forgot it exists. Go look in these folders depending on their OS:

  • Linux: Check ~/.mozilla/firefox/ (or ~/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla/firefox/ if you are on Dedian-based using the Snap version).
  • Windows: Open the Run box (Win + R), paste %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\, and hit enter.
  • Mac: Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/.

Look for a folder with a bunch of random letters and numbers (like g3h9ax2.default). Check the "Last Modified" date. If you see a folder that was modified right before they messed up, the data is safe.

Sadly enough I thought it was another profile I had created, which is why I deleted it

Then it's unlikely you'll be able to recover the deleted profile. If you had Sync set up, you can try using it to get some data, but otherwise it's probably a dead end.
