Firefox is not deleting search history when using Clear Recent History. The URLs still appear in the Show All History. In Settings under Privacy and Security, the box is ticked for Delete cookies and site data, and also for Clear history when Firefox closes. I have manually cleared cookies and site data and history within Settings, but the it still remains under History even when I've closed Firefox and restarted the PC. Under Sync, the box for History is not ticked. This has been happening for some time without me realising. I have now deleted ''pages.sqlite'' and this has cleared the history, but it still retains all new site data under History and will not clear it. I have disabled then uninstalled anti-virus, I have removed CCleaner because this was also not deleting history. And I've also reinstalled Firefox, but the problem persists. What am I doing wrong please? I am using Windows 11.
