Hi Firefox team, can you add extension support or a built-in ad blocker to Firefox for iOS because of the ads?

Hi

Add-ons for the desktop and Android version of Firefox are unavailable for Firefox for iOS.

Apple has created a proprietary iOS extension system which is incompatible with Firefox add-ons and extensions for Android, Mac, Windows and Linux. Also, iOS extensions written for other iOS apps won't work on Firefox for iOS (for example extensions written for Safari won't automatically work on Firefox for iOS).

Only a view browsers support extensions on iOS due to some iOS restrictions. Edge has a Chrome/Edge extension support (join the testflight beta to install your own .crx extensions, in the normal version, you can already install a lot of extensions like uBlock Origin Lite). So there’s uBlock Origin Lite for Edge on iOS. Also Safari supports uBlock Origin Lite. uBlock Origin Lite is a very good adblocker. There’s also Ghostery for Safari/Edge.

So Edge supports Edge/Chrome extensions on mobile and Safari supports Safari extensions. The Orion browser has a limited support for Chrome and Firefox extensions and no support for adblocker extensions but the Firefox version of Dark Reader works.
