Thunderbird works well for me and downloads to the Thunderbird Inbox from my email providers host Inbox.

However I would really like the sys to also download to my Thunderbird "Spam" box from my host "Spam" box which would be seen immediatly rather than have to go to my host web mail account which is a bit longwinded and a hassle. I find that some valid emails are treated as spam by my provider.

I have created a "Spam" box in Thunderbird and the path is exactly the same as the Inbox but substituting "Spam" in lieu of "Inbox".

Is this possible? Help! What do I do?

Many thanks

Robin

If your account is POP, thunderbird can only download from one folder. If IMAP, you can access both inbox, spam, and any others.

Many thanks for your prompt response. Clarifies it for me.

I will investigate further but seems my provider uses POP. Don't really understand much of it.

POP is fine if you keep everything on one PC. IMAP is good if you like to check and respond to mail from PC and phone.

If POP is the only type offered, some providers have an option to send junk mail to the Inbox with something like [SPAM] appended to the Subject. But switching to an IMAP provider is a better option.
