hi everyone, first of all, happy new year.

while browsing reddit, i keep seeing these strange underlined empty links on random words/names. for example this comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/moviecritic/comments/1hpse0f/comment/m4jxdwq/ shows the name of actress underlined.

i disabled all my extensions and the problem persisted. i checked using chrome and the problem didn't exist.

on inspect element i found something called faceplate-tracker though.

any clue what is this? and how to deal with it?

That is part of the current Reddit code. If I search the debugger for faceplate or faceplate-tracker then I see a lot of results.

If I click the Emma Thompson link then I get a sidebar with related links.

I did some testing as I didn't get the underlining after closing and restarting Firefox. If I use clear cookies and site data and then reload the page (F5), then I do not get the underline and also no references in the debugger, so I'm not sure what triggers loading this component (some specific cookies?).
