Did you try to contact FB support and ask them?
I'm pretty sure there isn't a built in way to enable playback controls. I was wondering if anybody knew a workaround or of a firefox extension.
Are those Reel videos played by the HTML5 media player ? Do they have a right-click context menu that allows to toggle controls ?
