There is a setting on the Preferences page to restore your previous session at startup. See: Restore previous session - Configure when Firefox shows your most recent tabs and windows. Does that not work?

Firefox treats session history as part of your browsing history, so if your Firefox is set to clear browsing history when it closes, that will also prevent restoring your session.

On Mac you can close open windows, but have the Firefox application still running, so make sure you quit/exit Firefox with the window that has your tabs still open to be able to restore the previous session. Otherwise you can check "History -> Restore Previous Session" and "History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" to see if you can restore this window.

Also make sure you install Firefox properly and that you do not run Firefox from within the DMG (Disk Images) file.

Open the Firefox Disk Images file and drag the Firefox application to the Applications folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the Disk Images, but instead drag it out of the DMG folder.
