Can anyone help pls. My husband has about 4 email accounts. This is an example of a recent typical problem. He received an email from Mr Kelly in inbox account 'I' but the content was an email sent from account 'A' to Mr Brown! What's happening? He has previously received emails with completely different content (from another entirely different unrelated subject/person) but it doesn't happen all the time. I got in touch with server people but they say nothing untoward and have no idea what's happening. They've suggested a problem with Thunderbird. I also checked the emails on webmail and there's no problem.

Try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder. Right-click the folder - Properties - Repair Folder

Thanks for your reply/help. He did as you suggested but unfortunately he's now getting "downloading x (no.) of x (no.) emails" but it never gets there, it never finishes downloading - this is with every account except one which eventually managed to clear. This has been going on for 2 days now.
