My computer crashed and I had to reinstall my software. I previously had not backed things up on Mozbackup, but Carbonite backed my files up. now, can you tell me the procedure to restore my addresses and other files from carbonite's backup?

You'll need to restore the Thunderbird profile from the backup. Check this article for more information on the profile location for MacOS. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Thunderbird#Mac_OS_X How exactly this is done with Carbonite I have no idea.
