Loadyyz Tab
Hi
I am a little concerned now because out of nowhere, a tab opened up saying that my browser was out of date and I believe it did show the Firefox logo on it. It also had a download prompt as if I clicked on something download a program...which I did not click "save file" and I immediately closed the tab. I can tell you that the web address that was in the address bar for this tab was loadyyz.com.
As of this message, I am currently scanning for any malware, spyware, etc but none have been found as of yet. I have the latest version of Firefox and this is very discerning to me. What else can I do to fix this problem and what if my software that scans for Malware does not detect this loadyyz?
Thank You

Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated,
DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS.
While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be Malware or a Virus.
Any time you want or need to check for upgrades,
go to the web site of the True Owner of the program in question.
For example, to check out Firefox, go to Mozilla.org.
You can send a report to the Real FBI via their
Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
You can also report such a site at;
Google Report Phishing Page
which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery
Help us safeguard Mozilla’s trademarks by reporting misuse
Go to the
Mozilla Add-ons Web Page
(There’s a lot of good stuff here)
and get a good add / pop-up blocker.
Ok, thank you. Unfortunately I did not document the URL of the tab that popped up. It was a lengthy web address. So it sounds like that if I closed the tab and the "save file" box (which I did) I should be fine and shouldn't be concerned...right? I am continuously scanning for spyware and such but none have been detected.
It might be in your history folder <Shift><Control> H. If you want, you can look for it and copy it to report it.
