A month or so ago a systems update was sent to my software for the Mozilla Thunderbird. It wasn't anything we performed on our end. But ever since then it keeps trying to compact folders, created subfolders within folders, duplicating emails many times over within a folder, some of the duplicate emails have no content, some have the subject line of one email but the content of a different email. It keeps freezing up and has to be rebooted. Or I go to a folder that should lots of emails and nothing displays. It is affecting my job. Right now I have NO access to any of my emails for the last five years. I get the emails from my Gmail account, which I have forwarded to my Thunderbird software because I like the ability to keep everything organized within various folders then subfolder which I cannot do with the basic Gmail software. I only archive my Gmail account for the last six months so I have no backfile there. I have used Thunderbird software for several years and have relied on its organization. But if this doesn't get fixed I might as well retire since I cannot do my job. Our library's IT person can't work on it since it isn't software that the University license. I realize that no one will probably be able to help but I am asking for any guidance I can get.

Once I get a link I want to read, which is imbedded in the Thunderbird emails, I ALWAYS get the :gah your tab crashed". What do I do to correct this. I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

For some time now Firefox will not show some videos. Like many other users of Firefox I have to begrudgingly switch to Chrome to see the video. I have tried most of the advise on the internet and reinstalled Firefox but the problem continues. This never use to happen. All videos played. It has only started in last few months. I see many other people have same problem with Firefox. It would be nice if Firefox was to change it back to working on all videos again. Thank you.

My email inbox show no emails in it. My I phone shows over 8000 emails in my email account. In the old Firefox page, all my emails are there on my computer, but not in the new . How do I get all my emails into the new Firefox email inbox? Thank you.

Hello. I have installed Thunderbird on my MacBook Air M3, unfortunately indexing does not work. When I open the Activity Monitor, ‘Indexing Messages’ appears in the list, but after 2 hours it is still at zero, the first few were made in the first millisecond. What can I do? Hi. Is there a way to add travel time to an appointment just like you can do in google or apple calendar? It’s a great feature. When I add an adres to my appointment Apple calendar will automatically add the travel time by car from my home to the destination. I miss that feature in Thunderbird.

I was working in Firefox for windows with several tabs open. After a computer restart, my Firefox browser reopened but none of my (many) tabs would reload. I closed Firefox and attempted to restart it by using the "restore previous tabs" function. Instead of opening, I received a small window pop up with error message about "older versions of Firefox yada yada" with two option: create new profile or Exit. I click exit (which closed the window) and tried restarting Firefox again, but received the same error. This time I selected the create new profile button. Firefox relaunched but, not only did the "restore previous tabs" option disappear, my browser history was completely wiped. Is there any way to recover my tabs/previous session?

Over the past week or so, my homepage refreshes intermittently and all of the time when I close tab. When I am on my homepage to read (MSN), I typically use the right click command to open the links in a new tab so I can keep the article in the homepage there. Every time I close the news tabs, the homepage refreshes. If I am just sitting on the homepage for few minutes, it auto-refreshes.

This does not happen on Edge or Chromium and I have been back to Firefox because I want more control over not having AI functions and Chromium still has serious limitations. But this is annoying. I have tried changing as many of the relevant settings in about:config that I could find to no avail. My PC an All-in-One 6 core Ryzen 7 with 16GB of RAM, which is far more than enough to handle the memory hog Firefox is (sometimes it eats nearly 2 gigs).

Any thoughts?

After the most recent update, I now have to double click on the message to read it when it used to show up in the current message pane. I found posts referring to tools->options->display but there is no such path in my Thunderbird. Using Windows 10 pro version 128.2.1esr (64-bit)

Any fixes to offer?

I've asked this question before. Sorry but I cannot locate my question on this forum. I have several "sub" address books for special interests: warnings, comedy, politics, etc. In the past I've been able to right click one of these sub-headings and I got a list of actions, including "copy to BCC". That enabled me to send a message or (usually) forward a message to the recipients in that subcategory without sharing their email address with each other. I no longer can get that option on right click. Is there any way I can use that option again? I suffered a computer crash and in the process of recovery made some mistakes.

I would like to recover old messages and the calendar. Unfortunately, there are multiple profiles and (I didn't create them) I'm not sure which one to use.

I am uploading various images of the profile folders. If additional info is needed, I am willing to upload.

Ultimately, I want to combine the older messages with more recent msgs.

Tried resetting password, which system confirms, but when I try to sned a message the password is not accepted A message appears thus :- Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server mail.plus.net responded: Mate, the command must be one of CAPA, USER, PASS or QUIT I do not understand what this means.

Another message can appear :- Sending of the message failed.

If your thunderbird window shrinks when being displayed on your internal laptop monitor but expands when displayed on an external monitor (or vice versa) it is because if the value for

layout.css.devPixelsPerPx (Edit -> Settings -> General -> (all the way down) Config Editor -> (search for) layout.css.devPixelsPerPx)

is set to a positive value. It seems like the value has a reverse effect in between internal and external monitors (shrink one and expands one).

To fix this issue, set the value for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to -1

I am posting this question to display this solution to the public if anyone else experiences a similar issue.
