I have a Raspberry Pi 4b with a 64bit 4 core Arm CPU and 8GB ram. It is currently using Debian Trixie with the Xfce4 desktop.

I installed Firefox, and went through the setup. I made sure that in settings -> general the "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" is checked. I also set the about:config "browser.search.openintab" is set to true. My default search engine is DuckDuckGo.

Firefox will not open any search in a new tab. It opens them in the search results tab only. I have an x86-64 notebook and an x86-64 desktop running Xubuntu that are using the same settings, and they function properly.

Am I missing something? Is this a peculiarity to the arm version of Firefox? Is there another setting specific the Raspberry Pi or arm Firefox that I have to change?

The newest version of Thunderbird wiped out the stored files from the previous version by making me create a new identity. I have tried several times to use "import" to retrieve backed up data from the old version, but without success, even after I re-installed an earlier version of Thunderbird. Each time I use the "import" feature I get a message that it failed unexpectedly. I need these old e-mails because they contain receipts for charitable donations that I need because my tax returns are being audited. What can I do?

I have a few extensions in Firefox but if I click on the extensions button in the toolbar it now takes me to a Personalize Firefox page where, if I click on Extensions, it only gives me the option of turning them off or on and not to activate or access them. For instance, one extension is Volume Booster which cannot be adjusted on this page. How can I get back to being able to actually using these add-ons?

After a recent update to Thunderbird (months ago), I found that when I search through my emails by name, it will find those emails and list them for me. But when I go and click on one of those found emails, it arbitrarily brings up some unrelated email - it never brings up the one that I click on.

I have used Thunderbird (Windows 11 PC) as my email application with my Road Runner / Time Warner / Spectrum email account for over 20 years. As recently as a week ago I could send emails. Now sending fails with this message - "Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com timed out. Try again.". No problem receiving emails in Thunderbird. I can send emails if I log into Spectrum.net in a browser and I can send emails from my Android phone. All server settings did not change and match those that the Spectrum web site says to use. Thunderbird is up to date - 140.11.1esr (64-bit). Windows is also up to date. Spectrum tech support was no help. Thanks

I setup an address book for a club so I can send BCC emails but it won't use the club address book! I had one in my old computer. So I try to send an email, click BCC and start typing the club name and it doesn't appear! In my previous computer it would find the club address book and insert it in the BCC line! This new one doesn't do that!

I have proton pass on an extension on Firefox on my iMac. I want to add the extension to my Firefox on iPad. I deleted Firefox app and reinstalled, I thought I downloaded the extension of proton pass, but I can’t find it. Each time I go back to Firefox and search for the extension it asks me to download Firefox again. I’m in a loop. Would appreciate any help! Thanks!

All my attempts to pay online with 2 out of my 3 cards have failed in the last 2 weeks. The Mastercard says it has connected to my bank and I'll get an SMS - but the SMS never arrives, and when I phoned my bank, they said they had no authorisation attempts reach them at all! The Visa card simply says it failed at the first step, without saying why or serving up the usual security dialogue. (The other Visa card just works).

I suspect the Autofill may be the problem here. I've recently had other scenarios where FF filled in a field for me, but the Javascript behind the website refused to accept it, eg saying it wasn't a valid phone no when it clearly was. The only way to get round this seems to be to type in the complete value yourself, which rather defeats the object. It could be something else, but it's clearly dependent on which software's running behind the card, as the third card succeeds.

Hi I use Firefox for years (decades probably). How on earth is it possible that after an upgrade (to 151), I had to manipulate about:config in order to allow unsigned extensions to keep working? Of course, I am not dealing with DIY extensions, but with small and unknown extensions as AdBlocker or uBlock origin... It doesn't seem I am the only one... Any explanation will be warmly accepted...

Can't get email from Comcast server any more & a lot of existing emails disappeared. Was on the phone with them & reset ports & checked other things but it didn't work. I can read them at Comcast's site & also send & get them there. Also can you help me forward my email to another email program?

I have lots (~100) of tabs open, distributed among windows and virtual desktops. Every now and then the laptop fan starts running wildly, and I identify a CPU hogging webpage in about:processes. How can I now switch to the open window/tab of that webpage to close or unload it? I would expect a click (or context menu item) within about:processes to bring me there. Currently I have to scan through all desktops/windows/tabs to find the page.

please tell me how to solve the problem in the one sentence i was asked to provide. i have tried syncing from both devices and have disconnected and reconnected to se if that helps, nope. i have no problem syncing bookmarks from desktop to android but the other way around is not working

I accidentally deleted a good number of my emails from my local Pop3 server account. I don't delete my emails from my gmail server so I can just redownload all my emails but cannot remember the prefix needed to do it.

If I recall correctly I go under settings for my email account, then go to server settings and add the prefix to my email shown in the Username field under the Pop Mail Server Section.

Can anyone remind me of the prefix?

It was like restore:[my email] or all:[my email].

I should have made a note of it as I cannot find it anywhere online now.

Why are many calendar events just disappearing? This has been happening for the last three months!! Calendar events were there yesterday, are gone today! I tried in protected mode and lost even more events. Now even more are missing. Several I have re-input over the last months, and they get gone too. What’s going on!! There are no addons, no sync. Nothing but Thunderbird. any one else having this bug?? What file are events stored in and how do I read them?? Any way to recover anyof these?? There is a lot of information and annotations, such as cancellations and rescheduleing and the whole bunch just disappeared? Many older events are still intact but I sure don't know for how long!!! My profile is on a separate drive and is accesed by both W10 and 11 for email and calendar. No problems except they are missing using either system!! It's a bug!! Anyone interested in looking at it?? Hi, I am Div, and I have a large number of EML files which I want to send to Thunderbird. Can anyone tell me the best ways?? I know the manual method, but it didn't work out for me because I want my files to be imported safely in bulk, as it is my daily work. I want a reliable solution. Will be really thankful if someone suggests a safe and quick solution.
