Attempting to install Thunderbird on an additional desktop using same address as my original computer has. That was my question:

Here's my answer to those questions: "Authentication error" "probably wrong configuration, username or password."

My email provider is MTA (Matanuska Telephone Association) Yes, I currently use Thunderbird in my other desk top and it works fine.

I have seen this problem with roadrunner listed in the forum but my situation is a bit different. Neither my wife or I can send or receive roadrunner emails with different machines. She uses a Mac (sonoma 14.8.7), up to date, I use Linux Mint ver 22. We also have iPhones and iPads. none of these units send or receive emails for the last 24 hrs but all worked just fine before. Spectrum says it our problem not theirs. The tech person at Spectrum said they partner with Thunderbird but they did not know of any changes made.

I have changed passwords used different routers and anything I can think of to connect but the devices now all time out when trying to connect.

I want to change the default download protocol accessing the mail server from imap to pop3. I went into the account settings & changed the default selection from imap to pop3. But the change does not take effect. Tbird still accesses the server using the imap protocol.

I upgraded my Fedora nad I think that Thunderbird 149 came with that upgrade. I cannot send mails. Ctrl+enter has no reaction. Downgraded to 148 and everyhing is fine. |<

I'm a longtime Thunderbird user. Today, it stopped working to send messages. (I can still receive messages OK.) When I try to send, it does the spell-check, but then doesn't do anything. I have been unable to send emails for several weeks and keep getting the following error message: sending of message failed The message could not be sent because connecting to the outgoing server (SMTP)smtp.1und1.de failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

My settings have not been changed so I am wondering what has changed and how i can correct it. My computer knowledge and ability is very limited so please bear theis in mind when offering advice and solutions. Thank you.

Ever since the latest update, when I hit send for an email. It says it cannot send, I cancel, hit send again and it goes through. I have to try sending EVERY email twice.

I have been using Thunderbird with two POP3 Hotmail accounts for some time and I am trying to set up a third account with exactly the same configuration. However, both the automatic and the manual configurations failed. The new account receives mail, but the outgoing smtp server config seems to have a problem. Sending messages times out or keeps prompting for a new password.

The Hotmail account has POP3 and IMAP enabled. Thunderbird is set to receive all cookies. I cleared history and cache after every attempt and also temporarily disabled the firewall.

Any suggestions about what the problem could be?

Many of my emails received are auto marked/shown as having been read. This means I never know which of my many emails received are new and which I have already read. Particularly annoying as I have a number of aliases and a number of folders to put them in. I am actively considering going back to MS Outlook, which would be regressive.

Hi, I use thunderbird as both POP and IMAP through gmail. I keep all my emails on my POP thunderbird desktop client. I use IMAP on my thunderbird laptop client, iPhone, iPad via Apple mail when remote, then download the emails to my desktop.

What I want to do is read emails and set them to archive on my IMA laptop, iPhone, iPad. I know Gmail tags the archived emails. How do I stop thunderbird from downloading the archived emails to my POP thunderbird desktop client?

Send Message Error "Sending of mmessage failed. An error occured while sending mail: Outgoing server SMTP error. The server responded [192.1680.166] Helo command rejected: IP address 204.237.106.179 Blocked due to Abusive Authentication Behavior."

Problem recently developed. So far on 2 different addresses but could be more. Additional info, hotmail and gmail accounts sending work OK; xplornet.com account is the problem interface but the C/Svc folks say it's a Thunderbird mail issue.

Though I was successful at getting Yahoo to install- I could NOT get my tuta mail account nor my Zoho mail account to install and run. I don't understand why- any solution posted on AI are too technical for me to understand and invest soo much time to try and figure out. Can I please get some help to activate my accounts here ?
