I have been using T-bird for years successfully until lately. We have multiple email addresses in Comcast and Gmail, but lately our passwords that we have been using and know are correct because they are written on paper and Keypass, are being changed somehow so that they will no longer work. When we look at the saved passwords in Thunderbird we see some have been changed on a certain date that we did not do, and the password listed now must be about 200 characters long. Then when we go to change the password, it may be listed as changed. Then when we try to send a message with that email address, we get an error message saying, for example, smtp.googlemail.com and a wrong username/address completely. I can find no way to correct the username email in any settings in Thunderbird. I have searched the Thunderbird HELP files many times, but am unable to find any of this addressed anywhere. After trying to fix these problems for most of 3 days now, I have get rid of Thunderbird for an email client that works correctly!!!

Clearly, this is a very basic question which has undoubtedly been answered before, but I haven't been able to find it. If Thunderbird had an old-style Help feature with an index, I could probably look it right up. But coming to the forum is the only option the program gives me.

Hello, Thunderbird has already imported my Hotmail account. How do I import my Outlook.com account? It was offered to me the first time, to add another one but for some reason, I could not. Thanks

I have created a new gmail address for my wife. Would like to add this address to my existing Thunderbird Mail account so that her emails also come to my Thunderbird email account. Not sure how to add her address to do this.. Thanks

I have been working with a new service provider to move my domain and Email service for the past week. The domain move wasn’t an issue, but migrating Email has been a major pain. The new service technical staff had numerous issues just accessing the Outlook account, so copying the inbox and folders turned into a nightmare. Then I installed Office 365, just to access Outlook, and create PST files, which I provided to the new service tech staff, to synchronize all folders, but most of the PST files didn’t end up in the new server.

So, in Thunderbird I created an account for the Outlook service, and that synchronized everything, and was ecstatic! I then attempted to change the correctly synchronized Outlook account on Thunderbird, to the new IMAP server, but I can’t figure out how to change from the Microsoft Exchange Mail Server, to the new IMAP server. Since the Email Addresses on both servers will be the same, and only change with the DNS update to point to the new server, I am unable to create an IMAP account on Thunderbird, along side the Outlook account.

I am at a loss as to what I can do at this point. Can anyone help?

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

I have a new gmail account and I can't figure out how to get Thunderbird to show me messages that come in to that address. I changed some things trying to set up a second account but emails still don't arrive. I am using a desktop computer with the most recently updated Windows 11 and updated Thunderbird too. What am I missing?

Thunderbird administers my 7 "aol" email addresses (accounts) on my Dell laptop (running Windows 7). 5 of the accounts are behaving normally, but the other two accounts appear to be linked. So, when I send an email from one of them, it appears in both "sent" folders. When I receive an email in one of them, it appears in both "in box" folders. When I visit "mail.aol.com", these 2 accounts behave normally. So it appears that they are linked within Thunderbird. Can you suggest a possible solution? Thanks, Tim

I am a long time Thunderbird user and set up a monthly donation. I no longer have access to that Email account and I need to stop the donation. The Donor portal won't work because it requires me to access my original email account.

I have created an account instance in account settings, and the "Test connection to server" says it is OK, but when I go to the mail tab the get messages button and New Message are grayed out an NO accounts are listed in the "folders" area. Not does it ever ask for my password to the SMTP server I have selected. I have an existing account with my own email service (Hover), and MUST connect to that. This is critical, as I need my e-mail to accomplish necessary activities.

My grandson got on my computer and was messing around with my email. Now when I open Thunderbird I get a pop up window that says sign in with google to continue to Thunderbird. It has my grandson's Gmail address in it and asks for a password. I can X out of it and continue to Thunderbird but it will pop up several times while I am reading my email. Why is this happening and how do I get rid of this pop up window.

I'm using Thunderbird with an Office 365 business account via EWS.

I'm trying to reduce the amount of storage used on my local machine by setting the "Synchronization & Storage" setting to 3 months instead of downloading everything, but every time I change the setting it doesn't stick.

I'm on Thunderbird 150.0.1 (Windows).

Thunderbird forces me to use the new amount hub. And I get authentication error when trying to setup outlook.com email

I'm trying to remove a couple accounts that I no longer use in Thunderbird. A window keeps popping up asking for a password, but the mail service is no longer available. When I click on the red delete button for that account, nothing happens. I've deleted all the mail in one of them which I was able to do as I thought I might need to do that first, but I still can't delete it after that. The other one won't even let me delete the emails. How do I delete these so I stop getting asked to put in a password for accounts that are no longer valid and I don't want anymore?

My email provider has transferred their services to a messaging service and I need to change accounts in Thunderbird from Pop 3 to IMAP. All the solutions I have found so far aren't working for me. Is it possible? This is starting to get pretty urgent as I have to change to the messaging service within the three days.

Just installed Thunderbird on Windows 11. Have two accounts: UN1@hotmail.co.jp and UN2@hotmail.co.jp. I created them in exactly the same way, but one of them works without problem, the other shows me "Command Error 12". After searching for a solution on the forum, I understand that none of the suggestions work. The error repeats. What can it be and is there a way to fix this error?
