My default browser (Edge) starts when Thunderbird opens requesting a donation. VERY time I start my TBird, the ad pops up again, completely taking over my computer. What needs to be done to prevent Edge opening when TBird opens?

Hi, We do have some problem upon mail synchronization between CPanale mail ( my mail server) with Thunder bird ( on my laptop). We have found that when we access my mail server ( CPanal ) directly and   delete some mail, that mail ( In my Thunder Bird mail box - upon my Laptop) will be automatically removed from my Thunder Bird mail on my Laptop. I want to delete file from mail server without any automatically synchronize delete file in my Thunder bird. How can i set up Thunder bird?

Up to a few days ago, when someone sent me a meeting invitation by email, I could accept it on my Thunderbird email app (on my windows 11 laptop) and it would be added to my Thunderbird calendar. When I would open an email invitation, there was always a line/bar that would appear below the subject line that would say "this message contains an invitation to an event" on the left side and then buttons with "accept" "tentative" "decline" on the right side of that line. This line/bar no long appears in email event/meeting invitations. On my windows 11 Laptop with Thunderbird version 128.2.1esr (64) bit, that line/bar no longer appears and I can no longer accept event/meeting requests sent to me by email. I could do this before, and I have an example from my old windows 10 laptop using Thunderbird version 115.15.0 (32 bit). Did something change with a new Thunderbird update? Or do I need to change some setting in my Thunderbird version 128.2.1esr (64 bit) app? See attached example of meeting requests received by email on both versions of Thunderbird. The email from the 115 version shows that event line/bar the email from the 128 version doesn't. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Previously all of the email accounts created in thunderbird worked flawlessly, one day when checking email automatically a seperate window opened displaying the error "Access Denied", I searched the net for a solution and could not find one, it is very possible that one of the most recent linux updates may have changed something as I recall a larger than normal update just before this occurred a few days ago.

For about a month now Thunderbird has been taking sent emails and doing one of several things. 1. Replacing the text with lines and lines of numbers and letters, 2. Removing the "From" and "Subject" lines and the message, leaving the message blank, BUT adding an attachment that has nothing to do with the recipient; 3. Sending some sent messages to trash after I have tagged them. I use emails like a paper trail, to check, to see if there are any emails I am still waiting to hear an answer back on, etc. Thunderbird has been my favorite email client since I was first told about it. I rely on Windows/Inbox heavily to switch to inbox. New version (115) has these tile stuff at top of Window menu bar - and I saw Inbox down below sometimes but in compose window Inbox link is missing in Window menu item. This is a HUGE problem for quick maneuverability.

On my Laptop, I have four email boxes mileoak@rogers.com, i-75dave@rogers.com, dave_hunter@rogers.com & book-orders@rogers.com. Whenever I try to get messages, I get a Thunderbird comment, "Connection to server pop.mail.yahoo.com was reset."

My connection in and out of my accounts worked perfectly on September 10th. When I signed in to Thunderbird on the morning of the 11th, I received the above message.

Here are the settings for dave_hunter@rogers.com (the least important of my accounts).

Incoming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com Username: Dave_Hunter@rogers.com Port: 995 Security: SSL/TLS Authentication: OAuth2

SMTP server: smtp.broadband.rogers.com Port: 465 Security: no authentication User Name: Dave_Hunter

Nothing changed at my end between September 10 and 11th. Have also used these settings for year with no problems.

I recently received a suggestion from sfhowes and tried the changes suggested with no success.

I'm in the middle of a heavy email sales campaign and have tried to switch to the Yahoo email menus which I find very cumbersome compared to Thunderbird. All the files I need are on my suspended Thunderbird system.

Can somebody please get me back on track so I can start using Thunderbird again?

Thankful blessings to whoever can solve this connection problem. I would even pay for professional help if it was available.

Just recently I'm getting a message that says my IMAP quota is at 75%, but every six months I move older messages stored in folders to Local Folders on my computer, to avoid using too much storage on the Thunderbird/Mozilla server. I have an email contact who uses alias emails to include team members as CC. Such an alias can have the form !wawProdAIProjects@domainsample.com However, I suspect it's the "!" in the local part that causes Thunderbird (or actually SeaMonkey, which I still use, but I have tested it and the behavior is the same in both) to change the email address by adding double quotes around the local part: "!wawProdAIProjects"@domainsample.com While both versions seem to be legitimate according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address and a verification service like https://verifalia.com/validate-email, my contact's email management system considers the "modified" version with the double quotes as "undeliverable".

So now I am wondering if and how to stop Thunderbird from adding those double quotes? Any ideas?

Morning everyone. For the last couple of days, I've been unable to download emails through TB. I have quite a few email accounts and not one of them is downloading, they all stopped working at the same time. I've checked the OAuth2 settings and everything is in order. I recently removed all the accounts from TB and re-added them one by one to ensure they were set up correctly as I'd been having problems.

Does anyone have any ideas please?

However, when writing an email its not picking up my previously set up mailing list.

What's more all the advice in the support database doesn't help me as the menus and keystrokes suggested don't bring up new mailing list etc as they expect- in fact I can't find mailing list on any of the menus.

I can see my old mailing list on my personal address book but can't do anything with it! It won't drag to a new email and click + right doesn't give me an option for a new email using it.

How should I proceed please

Moving an event into the future does not reset the reminders for the event.

Hello! I'm having a rather strange problem...I often need to quick filter messages to find certain emails, but for the past few weeks, any time I filter for a specific email (e.g. 3355 - a job number) and then click on the email I want to respond to, it disappears from the list of filtered emails. I imagine this must be some setting in Thunderbird that has gotten toggled in the wrong way, but I can't find the problem. Any idea why this might be happening?
