
When trying to load the the Seatle Times Crossword, it says "This site uses Java. If Java is installed and you cannot view the puzzle, your browser settings may need changing."
only started after I installed Firefox 4. had no problems before. IE and Firefox 3, no problems.

It appears that you either do not have Java installed or that you have it disabled. To test to see if you have Java installed and enabled go to:
- http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp

Also, do you see Java in the Windows Control Panel? If not, it is not installed on your system. See:
Install or Update the Java plugin to the latest version.

- Be sure to un-check the Yahoo Toolbar option during the install if you do not want it installed.

Can you see the puzzle? I get the same message, but if you click the Start button above it, you can type in letters. See screenshot.
If you can't see it, try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

well, guess i'm the dummy. i went to java and it said that i don't have java on this machine. except three months ago when i took this laptop on a trip, i know that i play the crossword. but, i downloaded java and installed it and now it works fine. i only have one laptop and i've had it a year and seattle times crossword is an everyday thing for me. anyway, thanks. i'm fixed now.
