Subject column missing in UNIFIED View

Sometime in the recent past (not sure exactly when), my SUBJECT column disappeared from the Unified View. See attached picture. View > Folders > Unified

Each individual email account correctly shows the Subject column, only the Unified view is missing the Subject column.

Clicking on the "Select Columns to Display" on the far right of the window and trying the "Apply columns to.." does not work because it does not provide an option to apply the columns to the UNIFIED view.

I tried reinstalling Thurnderbird but that did not fix the problem.

Any ideas how to fix this bug/program corruption?

My work email which is based on an Outlook exchange server has been working flawlessly for years, using Thunderbird at home to log into that work account, and send and receive all my work messages when I'm not in the office. Suddenly as of the most recent update to Thunderbird, this is no longer possible. I started getting messages from a third party software company ("Owl") trying to extort me into a subscription service so I can continue to log into my work account from Thunderbird... and lo and behold, as of Nov 23 Thunderbird stopped working with that account.

Is there any way to go back to a prior version of Thunderbird that will work with the exchange server? Or is there any way to configure the account in Thunderbird, to continue to use it in Thunderbird without paying "Owl" their monthly subscription fee? Do I need to replace Thunderbird with some other email service so I can log in to all my accounts without being extorted into yet another subscription service?

As soon as I double-click on a message that is marked as unread it immediately marks the message as read. Under Tools - Settings - General - Reading & Display my setting indicates it is supposed to automatically mark message as read "after displaying for 10 seconds". I've tried turning that setting on and off, changing the delay value and starting and stopping the application but no matter what I do, double-clicking an unread message immediately marks it as read. It's as if that setting does nothing.

I am running Thunderbird 102.5.1 (64-bit) on Windows 11 22H2.

All of a sudden I can't send emails from Thunderbird. Even though the email is just a bit of text, I get a message saying that the size of the email exceeds the space available on the server. Our internet provider is Frontier, and I can send messages from Frontiermail. I call Frontier tech support, and got told that I didn't have space on my server, which makes no sense. Have any suggestions? I can get emails.

I currently have several message filters, all of which function as expected. However one filter does miss messages. When that filter receives two messages from the same filtered correspondent, one right after another, only one message is transferred. The issue seems to occur if both messages have the same receipt time. When I manually run the filter, the second message is transferred to the specified folder.

In other words it appears that for received messages that match the filter, but have the same received time, only one is transferred to the specified folder.

Is this a Thunderbird flaw?

When downloading messages if there is a trojan in an email Bitdefender quarantines my entire inbox and subsequent emails in the same download have no inbox to write to so give an error. There is a work around but it is a pain. I have to do the following.

1 Log in to webmail 2 Delete suspect emails manually 3 Delete the popstate.dat file 4 Rerun the download.

This is a pain and I run the risk of losing older emails. I have switched off antispam in Bitdefender to no avail. Running 64 bit Windows 11 with the latest versions of Thunderbird and Bitdefender.

Hope someone can help.

Up until the latest update TB worked perfectly for multiple mail servers (Comcast & AOL) for years. Ever since the "102.5.1" update, it freezes the program. Can't send or receive mail thru TB, but access to Comcast & AOL directly work fine.

I've got my settings already set to "Download update but let me decide" and the TB program still auto updates, so I can't even to a system restore point to an earlier date, as TB ignores the setting and still updates to 102.5.1

Very frustrating. I've even uninstalled the TB program, and reinstalled it, scanned the Windows 10 system for corrupted files, rebooted, cleared cache, nothing works.

Would appreciate some ideas and help. Thanx Dennis

I am using Thunderbird Version 102.5.1 but the problem started when I upgraded to Thunderbird Version 102. I was waiting to see if it would go away but it has not. My machine is a Mac using Big Sur(11.7) and my email is POP. The problem is that Thunderbird DOES NOT retrieve messages from the server which were "undeleted". In other words if you select "undo delete message" and had retrieved only the message header the "undo etc." works but Thunderbird does not then retrieve the message from the server. You have to login directly to the server to view the message. Does anyone know of a Thunderbird solution to this problem?

I am an IT tech that makes house calls and I install Thunderbird for a lot of my clients who don't want to buy Outlook. It's my favorite of the (ever dwindling) free email clients, I've tried them all believe me. However the default view settings I find to be lacking. No reply, or delete button etc. So I always customize the view and make it the way I want. No problem there.

The problem comes when 6 months later the client accidentally click something they didn't mean to, removes a button, sorts by subject instead of by date, things like that. I work with mostly retired people, and some very advanced in age. They don't want to ever change the sorting and no amount of explaining how to fix it will work. It would be really helpful if there was a setting, somewhere in the view menu maybe, to lock the current display settings, so that they can't be changed without unlocking them first.

I've combed through the settings and done some searching in the add-ons but haven't found anything like it. Is that possible?

Running Win 10, Thunderbird and Firefox. Today on boot up, all my T'bird emails from Gmail between 15 March 20-22 and 7th December have disappeared. Several T'bird folders and subfolders have also disappeared.

Following Mozilla suggestion, I have changed all my gmail accounts to OAuth, which enabled me to receive and send gmail emails. My SFR and LOL accounts are not affected.

On MS Word all my recent documents list has disappeared.

On Firefox, all my open tabs disappeared and were replaced by tabs open several months ago - possibly the March 2022 date that the emails disappeared from.

I have not yet checked all my Windows folders, but one has had 95% of the files and subfolders evaporate.

Any ideas please?

I have a block of text I need to paste into an email I am sending. I have frequently done this before. It has now stopped working in Thunderbird. I can still paste the text into a word processor. In an email I have tried both using"Ctrl plus V" and "EDIT - Paste", but neither produce any text added to the email I am writing. This has only recently appeared as a problem. Has anyone had this issue? I attempted to import a large .ics calendar into one of my new TB calendars, and, it appears that TB then re-sent invitations to past events attendees. I cut off the import, but only after I realized this was happening.

So, attendees from past events that were listed as participants were sent an event invite for events that were, for some, 2-3 years ago. An embarrassing situation.

Did I do anything wrong with the import process? Would there have been a way to prevent TB from doing this on a calendar import?

The .ics import came from a large file where, in this large calendar ical file, the events had been sent to me from various groups from their Outlook. It appears to me that when I imported the .ics file into my new TB calendar that TB imported the past events and then assumed that I was the organizer, and TB then mailed out invites to the list of people on the attendee list.

Lately I'm having trouble with my connection with outlook. I use a free outlook email address. Sometimes (not always) when starting Thunderbird, I get the "user authenticated but not connected" warning. After a while it's working again.

I have tried several settings but can't figure out what solves this issue.

I'm using port 993 / SSL/TLS and authentication method is set to normal password.

Most of the times this works.

When I switch to OAuth2, I get the Microsoft screen to login to my work / school account which I do not have.

I've search the web to find a solution for this but I can't find it. Hopefully someone can help me out because it drives me "nuts" ;)

We have nearly identical macbooks with IDENTICAL mail server settings. One can send emails and the other cannot. The emails show in the sent folder but never get to the recipient. There is no error message. There are very minor version differences: Good email- macbook pro early 2015 A1502, os 10.13.6, tbird 102.5.1, firefox 86.0.1

Bad email macbook the same, os 10.13.3, tbird 102.5.1, firefox 106.0.3 Bluehost email service and website We have no outgoing firewalls/filters on the machines.

We just do not use the macbook for sending emails. It is a hassle. I recently contributed to Thunderbird. We do not update software if we can avoid it because sometimes things break when you do. I have not called Bluehost since their customer service went overseas and is crummy now.

I recently had a major crash in Thunderbird and following a long and tedious process I now have it more or less back up and running. There seem to be two things I have been unable to fix. The first is that hyperlinks now no longer open from emails. I have been through all the steps contained in the artic;e"https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/hyperlinks-in-messages-not-working" and cannot find anything wrong. I did change a couple of the config settings that looked like they might apply but nothing changed.

I am at a loss as to where to proceed next.

(As an aside the above article must have been written some time ago because it indicates that Preferences are in the 3 dashes menu whuch it isn't. After much fluffing around I eventually determined it must mean the Config Editor)

The second problem I have is that the "Insert" menu item has disappeared from the top menu bar and right clicking on the bar to customise does not show it as an option.

Are these two issues related?
