When I leave off the .com firefox defaults to a Yahoo page .. Why ???
When I enter a site address but leave off the ".com" instead of Firefox assuming the ".com" it instead goes to a Yahoo page.
Has Yahoo somehow hijacked and rerouted me to one of it's pages and how can I fix it.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

You can modify the pref keyword.URL on the about:config page to use Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" or Google's "Browse By Name".

You can also disable keyword search altogether.
