I am a long time outlook user. I stuck with it for so long because it nicely integrated calendar, e-mail and contacts as well as the To Do List.

The sync tool that connected my Android contacts, calendar, etc to my computer Outlook calendar, etcetera is no longer viable.

I thought Thunderbird was a useful alternative. I rebuilt my calendar and contact list in Thunderbird on the PC, but now, I don't see any way to access that data through the Android app. What am I missing?

If your Android contacts are Google Contacts and the calendar is also Google, both can be synced with TB. ≡ - New Account - Calendar - On the Network, ≡ - New Account - New Address Book - CardDAV Address Book.
