All french accents now become ?
I cant do any french email without all the accents turning into interrogation mark. I uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird without any changes. Removed french dictionary with no changes. Its pretty recent that it started doing that. No changes to my computer.

You use yahoo and as many times before, they don't follow best practice. Someone has commented that yahoo have now fixed this, so by now your problem may have just gone away.

Are you using Arial font? Try changing it to something that in unicode compatible.
Tks for the suggestion, tried several fonts but no change. Still getting ? for all accents.
Could you send me a message demonstrating this?

Well dang its fixed! yeah! :) Tks so much for your help Zenos. Use Tbird but go through yahoo server. Just did several test with french accents and they all arrived with all the accents perfect.
