Bookmarks gone AGAIN!

I am incredibly frustrated by the continuing problem of all my Bookmarks disappearing with the usual "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." This issue has been going on since NOVEMBER!!! I usually manage to get my Bookmarks back by closing all txt files that I need to keep open, store them in a new folder on my laptop, and then restart my laptop. This time, it didn't work.

Can anyone steer me to a permanent solution to this problem?

What OS are you running Firefox on? Have you tried using this guide? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-bookmarks-and-history-will-not-be-functional

Windows 11. TBH I don't recall whether or not I tried using the guide you posted on any of the many times I had to deal with the problem. It looks as if it's going to take me a while to try the solutions, which is disheartening because I'm SO DONE with it :-(

Thanks to all for all your efforts. I have to wonder why the problem only arose in the past few months, but hope to get to a once-and-for-all solution soon.
