Firefix blocks after downloading a file from a specific website

more options

When visiting www.storiesonline.net and downloading a page from that site, Firefox blocks, and doesn't respond to any further actions. Only after going to taskmaster and ending a backgroundproces from Firefox (That is using 25-35 % CPU at that time) . This crashes the current page which we can then restore, after which everything works again. This started after installing version 56.0.2 and wasn't resolved in 57.0.

Could you update your Video Card Drivers for your NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 They are not that old driverDate: 5-17-2017 https://www.geforce.com/drivers Should always keep them updated when released or blinking in the tray. I get new drivers about once a month for mine. Old and/or corrupted drivers can cause a range of issues.

I take that Firefox Blocks is Firefox Locks... and Taskmaster As Task Manager.

Since you say crash but think you just mean End Process. But have a look here for me please just in case. If there are I need you to copy the bp- files as instructed so that I get them on this end as a URL. If from last month also, nothing older. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-asking-support

So got you covered in this : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-hangs-or-not-responding

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks Pkshadow for coming to the rescue. I have updated my Videocard drivers. Indeed Firefox doesn't block but it locks, and I meant Task Manager. I did indeed end one of the background processes. This resulted in a message within Firefox that my tab was crashed, and that I could choose to refresh (reset) the tab. After doing that, I could indeed go on working until after my next download. I have tried restarting, cleaning the caches and buffers, deleting files from the profile-directory and refreshing Firefox, all without any success.

Updating the Videocard drivers didn't work either, so I'm still hoping you have a solution for me
