Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I checked LinkShrink and had no problem

MyAnimeList has no captcha.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?

The attached screenshot shows the Network Monitor tool, which lists the requests and server responses for the current page. I put red boxes around the requests related to recaptcha. If you open the Network Monitor on the tab with LinkShrink and then reload the page bypassing cached files -- hold down the Shift key when clicking the Reload button or using Ctrl+Shift+r) -- is your Firefox requesting and receiving those files?

Here's how you call up the Network Monitor:

  • "3-bar" menu button > Developer > Network
  • (menu bar) Tools > Web Developer > Network
  • (Windows) Ctrl+Shift+e

(Then reload the page bypassing the cache.)

Did you check the Web Console for error messages?

There is an error

I get that error message, too, but at least on mine it doesn't affect the reCAPTCHA frame. I'm testing in a private window with Google Analytics blocked, but I don't know whether that makes any difference.
