To be more specic:

1.my bank returns 'error, cannot open account, try later " when I hit return after entering my password field.

2.Gmail moves the password field header, "password" ringht into the field itself, on top of my just-entered password, where they visually merge their pixels together. Just whe I hit the enter key after keying in my password.

Its pretty cool,pixel-wise, but Gmail login screen locks up ! Buttons all disabled. Congrats, downing the users largest email website !

3. The NOAA radar site radar.weather.gov, has an entry field for my zipcode at the top of the screen. THAT entry field box still works correctly with b7.

Can you attach a screenshot?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Safe mode ended corruptions. I run Ghostery and NoScript.

In NoScript, the Gmail login screen showed google.com wanting to run a script. It was not allowed.

Telling NoScript to "temp allow" google.com seems to solve the problem. Now the page wants to allow youtube to run scripts !

I have no idea why this problem appeared exactly when i first ran 59.0b7.

Shameless pushing from webpage owners !

Thanks for the very rapid response from both of you, I used Brave to follow your emailled instructions, since I couldnt log into gmail with FF.
