Hello, When I click on a link from any email and also when I double click on any html file on my desktop or anywhere else in my computer, absolutely nothing happens. This started when I upgraded to ff50. There was a similar question here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1147139 but this user was getting an error message and I'm not even getting those!

I also looked at my Troubleshooting page where it says Multiprocess Windows 0/2 (Disabled by add-ons) so I don't know if that is relevant or not. This is making it very difficult for me to get any work done!

Yours Sincerely, Kaelkitty.

Wierd! When I started FF this morning, I got the "FF is loading your updates" message - and now all is back to normal! How bizarre! I am however, extremely relieved, and will mark this solved.

I forgot to mention Chrome and IE are both opening files from the desktop and FF WILL open a file if I build it up from the file:///C:/ stub, or if I go to the Firefox: File menu > Open File (or Ctrl+O).

The following methods DO NOT work:

double-clicking the file in Windows Explorer (Firefox is my default browser)
in Windows Explorer, right-clicking the file > Open With (shows in the menu, but nothing happens)
drag-and-dropping the file from Windows Explorer to a Firefox tab (shows the barred circle no go sign at the mouse pointer)

Hope this helps.
