I am unable to use several sites I was able to use yesterday. Apparently it is not a Java issue.
Yesterday I installed a web-based bit of software (I've since uninstalled it) but ever since then I've had trouble opening several work-related pages which are really web-enabled applications. I work in IT (networking) and these are network management type apps. the three addresses are, if it would help:
https://bradfordcm:8443/ which goes to a piece of hardware on our LAN here, Bradford Network Sentry http://10.3.1.12/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?ViewID=1 which goes to a SolarWinds server here at work, and https://helpdesk.anselm.edu/admin which goes to a Dell Kace appliance right here at work
I have spent literally hours trying to solve this, worked with plugins, settings, etc. but I am simply unable to solve it. First if there were a way to confirm exactly what type of issue it is, that would be hugely helpful. Thanks for any help; using IE is painful for me but I'm forced to until this is solved :)
I am running Firefox 44.0.2 on Windows 7 Pro.

Try using the Refresh feature in Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-preferences-fix-problems https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
What kind of errors or problems do you get when you try to open those web pages?
Is that a problem with certificates or other problems e.g. with cipher suites?
Can you attach a screenshot?

- Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
- Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB
I replied directly via email, hope that was okay. I have one more site that I am unable to access with Firefox. thanks Kathy
Oops, got the email back. Apparently that was NOT okay. Anyway here is what I sent: Hello Co-Rel, and thanks for your help. Below is the image of what happens when I try to access one of the sites. A “refresh” of Firefox (suggested by another member of the community) fixed two of my three problem sites, so I just have this one left below to access. As I mentioned in my problem statement this is an internal appliance, here on our LAN. All I need to do is put a security exception in someplace. Kathy

You can set these prefs to false on the about:config page to disable cipher suites that are involved with the Logjam vulnerability in case they are currently enabled (true).
- security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha
- security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
