Every time I shut down the computer or exit firefox, I have to reinstall all my addons. Someone replied to my question the other day which worked for a while but now the problem has returned. I used the refresh firefox but that didn't help, I did as instructed before which now is only a temporary fix. Any ideas ? Thanks

I did what you suggested and in typical Microsoft fashion, it only partially removed an infected file.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Can you please ensure that your antivirus software gives Firefox access to read and write files on your hard drive?
Can you also check to ensure that there isn't malware on Firefox that is corrupting your profile files? You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Hello again.
If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.
You can also check for problems with preferences.

I tried what you said but to no avail. Thank you for your help.
In case Firefox performed an automatic reset, could you check for desktop for an Old Firefox Data folder?
As a solution you can try this out delete your Firefox profile and uninstalled the browser cleanup any antivirus feature and then Install Firefox again.
Please reply back to us.
Thank you.
