Some web sites will not work, if you hit a button nothing happens. When I copy the url and put it into IE11, everything works. I have tried several add-ons, but the ones that worked on FF28. None work on later versions. I am on FF34.05 now. With win7 64bit, 6gigs memory. I hate IE please help me.

Chosen solution

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.

Fire IE (FireIE, Enhanced IE) {web link} Embeds Internet Explorer(IE) to use the powerful Firefox add-ons. Not only an enhanced IE Tab, but also an enhanced Internet Explorer with Adblock Plus and FireGestures support. Switch to the IE engine in one click and dismiss your IE.

Do you have an example of "IE 11 designed web sites"?

I thought Microsoft long ago decided to embrace W3C standards so that web designers didn't have to jump thru hoops for every different rendering engine being used, as was the case in the first half of the 00's.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
