Very bothering to continually received popups from ad by ProShopper. Is there anthing can be done to prevent it. This happens only when going to the internet using Mozilla. They are a pest and perhaps Mozilla should terminate them ! Someone can help? Thanks, Bcheong.

Should also ask: Did you download Firefox from the official Mozilla site? Sometimes if you search on Google or any search provider, they sometimes have "Advertised links" which are sometimes Firefox bundles that have been slightly modified/shipped with malicious software.

If you did download from a different website and believe that to be the cause, you can report the link here:

Hello,

Please see:

If your home page is hijacked, you can also check to see if your shortcut has been tampered with. Right click on your Firefox shortcut and select Properties. Check the target line under the Shortcut tab for any web pages after the "firefox.exe". For more information see Wrong home page opens when I start Firefox - How to fix.

Since it is only affecting Firefox, it likely also has an extension. Please remove anything suspicious from:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Add-ons > Extensions

Depending on what the thing modifies, the Search Reset Tool extension might be useful to you. When you install it, it will reset your home page, search preferences, and new tab page back to default, then uninstall itself.

If your Firefox still seems affected by ProShopper, you can also try the Reset Firefox feature which can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information. Note: After resetting Firefox, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
