I had this same problem too but managed to fix it. Uninstall Flash from your computer (i uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX 64-bit and Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin 64-bit from ADD/REMOVE) once they were both uninstalled i reinstalled the player and it seems to have fixed it.

That was the first thing I did. I am using XP and up until I installed Firefox 8 I had no problems. Uninstalled Firefox and Flash and re-installed both and no change.

Have the latest final releases of Firefox and Flash and I have this problem too. Flash working fine in IE though... :P

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

That doesn't fix the problem for me. All other browsers work fine, it's just firefox that wont play video.
