When I "restore down" a web page, it doesn´t go half size anymore, it disappears into a small firefox box in the top left hand corner of the screen?

I use windows 7. I normally "restore down" a web page to half it´s size, so that I can see 2 or 3 at a time. This morning, I did this and the pages started to disappear into a little box under the orange firefox logo in the top left of the screen. I´m not aware that I have changed anything myself and as I am not very I.T. savvy, I hoped someone could tell me what to do to revert to how things worked before.

For future:

-> click Firefox button and click Options -> Content -> Remove Checkmark from Enable JavaScript

Hi and thanks for the reply. When I tried the fix, it made the content of one of my most used pages dissapear, it loaded but without information. Also when I restored the page down, it dissapeared into the little box again.

Close Firefox (click Firefox button and click Exit) -> right-click Firefox shortcut icon and click Properties -> Shortcut section -> in Run: select Normal window -> click OK -> left-click empty space on your Desktop and Tap F5 key to Refresh

Now Start Firefox

Check and tell if its working.

Hi mha007, I followed the instructions and when I got to the shortcut section, in run, "select normal window" was already highlighted. I selected it again anyway and a notice came up saying "access denied, you will need administrator permission to make this change". Things are still the same.

Make sure that you do not disable JavaScript, most websites won't work properly with JS disabled.

Did you try to delete the file localstore.rdf in the Firefox Profile Folder?

You can check the Advanced JavaScript settings and remove the check mark to resize a window.

  • Tools > Options > Content : JavaScript > Advanced > Allow Scripts to:
[] "Move or resize existing windows"
[] "Raise or lower windows"

Thanks mha 007. The article you sent me to in mozillazine helped to restore the toolbar and now the pages restore down again.

Also thanks cor-el, your anwer would have sent me to the localstore.rdf as well.
