In that ip address bar, when you click in it there is a dropdown menu. It used to have all those sites that I look at every day. Recently is has added some others which I almost never go to and has dropped some that I go to every day. Like I went to the national do not call registry to register my phone number. I only went there once, and that was a few weeks ago but for some reason it keeps that one in that menu, at the expense of my regulars. There are a few more like that. there are now 3 like that, things that I have only gone to once, but there they are apparently permanently. How do I remove those I don't want so that it has apace for those I do want?

You can use these steps to remove saved items from an autocomplete drop-down list.

  1. click the (empty) input field on the webpage to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press "Delete" or "Shift+Delete" to delete the highlighted entry

Note that hovering with the mouse doesn't work.

I opened a new tab and did the down arrow for that first item on the list and then hit delete and nothing happened I also tried shift-delete and nothing. It was highlighted but nada.

Now it's adding more things to that address bar menu. Just this AM it started adding "switch to" other tabs I have open. Like, I always have the weather tab and now, in that address menu it has a 'switch to' the weather tab and a few other tabs. How do I get it to stop and just have the news feeds I look at every day? I don't want all that other stuff I don't need there.
