Firefox doesn't check for update on Win 11. Norton 360 firewall may be stopping it? Nit sure. Any ideas?

My Norton 360 does not have a problem updating Firefox on my Win 10. Norton questions should be asked here; https://support.norton.com

http://community.norton.com/

Step one is to check your update setting. Type about:preferences#advanced<enter> in the address box. Under Advanced, Select Update.

[v56+]; Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address box. Select Update.

What happens when you do this; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar. Then Help > About Firefox will tell you what version you have. WARNING: and install any updates.

I'm using Win 11, not Win 10.

Step one takes you to the General page. There is not a Advanced selection there.

The tool bar does not come up when pressing Alt or F10.

I turned off Norton so that's not causing the proble.

Thanks.

If you have Firefox 95.0.2 but haven't gotten Firefox 96.0 yet, that's not abnormal. Although 96.0 was released on Tuesday, the update server doesn't tell every Firefox that checks in about the update -- there is an initial gradual release to watch for major problems that weren't caught in beta testing.

If you didn't get 95.0.2 during the past 3 weeks, then I think there might be a problem. Could you type or paste about:policies in the address bar and press Enter to load that page. Normally, the Active panel just says "The Enterprise Policies service is inactive." Does yours mention any update-related policy?
