How do I use the capture and print buttton

more options

I've been trying to figure out how to use the capture and print button, or add on or whatever you call it. I press on it and the whole page changes to a different color, then I try to clip out the section I want but I don't know how to send it to the printer. Can anyone help me with this. I'm not to savvy with tech stuff, but when I find a recipe or something else and it doesn't have an option to print out just a certain area, I can't figure out how to use it????

Thank you,

Andi Starbuck

What happens for me is, I click and drag to make a yellow selection rectangle, and as soon as I lift my finger up off the mouse button, the part I selected is captured as an image, a new tab opens, and switches to Print Preview showing the image. I can use Page Setup or just print. But if I close the Preview, that temporary image vanishes and I'm back on the page where I started. Are you seeing something different?

This extension? https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/capture-print/

I don't know why a yellow overlay appears over the whole page when you click the button. It makes it harder to see what you want to select. But from what I can see, you need to use the mouse to click and drag over the area you actually want to print even with the yellow overlay in your way.

Okay I get that part but now what do I do. Do I go to the file tab to print it or do I use the print thing at the top of the browser and it will automatically be there? Thank you so much for your help, sorry I'm so dense, and I'm not even blonde, just old. Thank you jscher2000

Thank you so much for your help. It's working for me now. Perhaps it was on a page they didn't want me doing that on. I did what you told me today and it worked just like you said it would. Your help was much appreciated.

Problem solved for the print issue. However there are other options on that button for capturing to a clipboard, and when I don't have a printer working it would be nice to save it to a clipboard. Have you explored this option yet?

I didn't check whether it copied the selection to the clipboard. I don't know whether that is turned on automatically or might be an option. I've already uninstalled and moved on!
