I opened today my browser and all my bookmarks were deleted. What happened and how can i restore all of them?

I tried to restore them but nothing happened. I do not know if the deletion was from one of your updates. There was more than 40 bookmark all of them for my business. Please i need a clear answer of how to restore all of my bookmarks?
