where is the big long bar on the bottom of the screen? I hit the x by mistake and i cant get it back.

You are describing the add-ons bar. You can get it back by using keyboard shortcut Control+/

Alternatively right-click on a toolbar, then click on the "Add-on Bar" entry to select it.
