I cannot get Firefox to open. It tells me Firefox has crashed. I clicked to send report but nothing helps. Also restarted computer. Have no idea how to even get on the internet to re-download it. I am using a laptop now. The computer that is in trouble is my desktop operating on Windows XP.

I also had problems today with my Microsoft Office program. I had to set the system restore to get it to operate properly. Additionally after that my MS Security Essentials updated.

Is there a phone number I can call for help?

Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder to make sure that nothing went wrong with the system restore.

  • Uninstall your current Firefox version.
  • Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
  • Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
  • It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
