can't open starter page

open Mozilla Firefox Google page comes up followed by a blue screen and every thing freezes, I can't open or close anything no desktop icons, nothing. I have to go back to start and before the blue screen starts go to bookmark and hit msn.com. when I close down msn, the blue screen comes back. I shut down the computer start the next day the Google and the blue scree come back
